Trump Suggests Hassett Will Take Over as Fed Chair, Once Again Criticizes Powell for Not Cutting Rates
BlockBeats News, December 3rd: During last night's cabinet meeting, U.S. President Trump stated that he may announce his nominee for Federal Reserve Chair early next year, adding that Treasury Secretary Besent does not want the position. He has evaluated 10 Federal Reserve candidates and only has one final candidate remaining.
Subsequently, Trump introduced Hassett at the White House meeting, stating that the potential Federal Reserve Chair is right here.
Furthermore, Trump reiterated his criticism of Powell, stating that even JPMorgan Chase CEO Dimon said Powell should lower interest rates.
